Why MXUS motors overheat
The MXUS is a popular choice for high power ebikes, and many riders run it well above its rated power. A hub motor is a sealed shell, so the heat from the stator has nowhere to go except through the casing. On long climbs or at high current the motor heats up faster than it can cool down, and the controller cuts power or the motor gets damaged.
